ChurchSacred Heritage

The people of the County of Pontiac once sustained their religious life by reading the Bible and welcoming traveling missionaries. When a community was sufficiently settled and organised, they built a church which became the centre of social life and religion.

Today, there are more than a dozen religious denominations in the Pontiac. A typical village may have several churches: Anglican, Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, etc.

Except during services or special tours, Pontiac churches are closed to the public.
